Volunteers working on the Great Eastern Trail have contributed thousands of hours to the project.

The U.S. National Forests have a long history of support by volunteers. Working on projects in your local forests is a great way to stay connected and informed about forest issues. Below are some links that will help you locate volunteer opportunities in your area.

Passport in Time is a volunteer program for archaeology and historic preservation program of the Forest Service. This website explains the program and lists available projects and includes information about the application process.
